E-commerce is simply the buying and selling of products and services over the Internet, and this term is often used to describe all the steps of a merchant throughout the buying process, and it begins when a potential customer knows about a specific product and then continues through the entire buying cycle until the product is purchased and used.

What is e-commerce?
E-commerce is simply the buying, selling and exchanging of products or services, money transfer, supply chain management and data processing to carry out transactions via the Internet.

E-commerce refers to the sale of physical products over the Internet, but it can also describe any type of business transaction that is recorded over the Internet.

The start date of e-commerce.
The history of e-commerce first began on the Internet on August 11, 1994, when a man named (Phil Brandenburg) made his Mastercard to buy a tape known as Sting's Ten Summoners' Tales for $12.48 from Net Market, which is Online selling platform in America.

With the passage of time, e-commerce has developed, knowing and buying products through wholesalers’ websites and large markets on the Internet. Business owners and large small companies have benefited from e-commerce, which facilitated the way for them to sell their products and services on a larger scale that did not exist through traditional offline sales. .

The difference between e-commerce and digital marketing?
E-commerce and digital marketing are a complementary process to each other to breathe life into your business, because digital marketing draws customers' attention to your product, while e-commerce actually works to sell your products.

The difference between the two is clear and being greedy is important because being good at one type of them doesn't necessarily mean that you're great at the other. You may be great at digital marketing and bring a lot of visitors to your website, but if you can't sell your wares to save your life, what's the point?

Types of e-commerce models.
There are 7 main types of e-commerce models that can describe almost every transaction that takes place between consumers, businesses, and government agencies, and they are:-

1- Business to Consumer (B2C):

When a particular company sells a product or service to an individual consumer (for example, when you buy shoes from an online wholesaler) this is called from a company or brand to an ordinary consumer.

Nike, IKEA, and Netflix are examples of companies that engage in B2C e-commerce.

2- From company to company (B2B):

The meaning is clear that a company has a product or service that it sells to a second company (for example, a company that works as a software service provider and the other company buys that service to use it to facilitate work and increase productivity, whatever the value provided by that service)

An example of a B2B business is Slack , which is a platform for communication between businesses and remote employees, and Xero is a storage-based accounting software for businesses.

3- Consumer to Consumer (C2C):

Here we mean that an ordinary customer sells a product or service to a consumer (eg a person with old furniture that he sells on eBay to another consumer who wants to buy that furniture).

4- Consumer to Business (C2B):

When a consumer has products or services and wants to market or sell them to a company or organization (for example, if you are a photographer or you have photos and you want to earn from them, all you have to do is license the photos and display them on sites and a company wants to use those photos to use them in their own business, or If you are an influencer and want to offer a company to promote their services for a certain amount).

It is the site of the Freelancer example: company that combines both parties to participate in C2B transactions, which is an independent platform that connects workers and businesses remotely.

5- Government to Company (G2B)

The G2B e-commerce model is applied when government provides businesses with products and services, government procurement, data centers and e-learning are all examples of G2B e-commerce.

6- Company to Government (B2G)

The B2G model is described to companies that provide products and services to the government, for example, OpenGov is a company that provides governments with cloud-based platforms for communication, reporting and budgeting.

7- Consumer to Government (C2G)

The consumer is a force every time they pay taxes or when they pay health insurance or bills like electricity, water, and electronic bills related to the public sector, they participate in C2G.

Examples of e-commerce.
E-commerce has various forms that guarantee different relationships and transactions between companies and consumers in the long term, in addition to various bodies that are exchanged as part of these transactions, including:-

It is selling a product from a specific company or brand directly to the wholesaler without any intermediary between them, whether on the ground or through the Internet.

It is the wholesale sale of products, through a retailer who sells products directly to consumers.

It is the sale of products that are manufactured and shipped to consumers through a third party, who has a site through which they market to a specific company, such as Amazon and Alibaba, they have a commission marketing system.

It is the process of collecting money from businessmen or an investor, in a partnership system if he likes the idea, and the aim is to increase the company’s capital before starting to manufacture the product that needs to be put on the market, or if it is a service before it is tested by individual companies.

That is, a site that offers a service in which individuals or companies subscribe for a certain amount, often on a monthly or annual basis on a regular basis until the subscriber chooses to cancel that service.

physical products:
It is any tangible good that requires stock replenishment and that is ordered to be shipped to customers while sales are being made.

digital products:
They are in the form of digital products such as templates, courses, or media, graphics, and virtual downloadable goods that Customer purchases for consumption or licenses to use.

Examples of digital products include Coursera (an online learning platform), and audiobooks (a website where you can buy audiobooks).

Why should you invest in mobile apps now

Mobile application development has become not only developing software algorithms to work on mobile phones only, but has become a big industry in the past five years. Hundreds of applications that have been acquired by millions of dollars by large companies such as Google , Facebook and others. For example, Instagram, which was acquired by the social networking giant for a million dollars. And you was the biggest deal in the history of mobile apps, so we can't believe this, Facebook once again bought a new app, but this time it was WhatsApp for $17 billion. It is considered the largest deal in the history of mobile applications to date.
What caused this boom in the telephone software industry?
If we look at the history of the development of the web besides mobile phones, we will certainly know why this boom!
The web industry has evolved from static speech design to automated interactive software. Even this development was not enough. When the first mobile phone was released from Apple, it was the first operating system to adopt the idea of mobile applications, and with the increasing spread of the growth of mobile phones, whether Android or iOS, the stores of these platforms containing millions of applications spread with them.
So there are several reasons that made this platform one of the most important factors for the success of many companies. More than half of Facebook and Twitter users use it through their mobile phones. The reasons are:
The question remains, how do mobile applications work ?
1. The world has become mobile.
No one can deny that accessing our mobile phones is faster than accessing private laptops. Who among us does not check his mobile phone in the morning, while driving or transportation, at lunch or when looking for something, etc.
2. Mobile applications provide quick marketing solutions.
When your company's mobile application is on the customers' phone, this enables them to connect to your work at any time and anywhere. And when you use the application periodically, it enhances the capabilities of your company and helps build a strong identity and link between you and the customer in the palm of the hand.
3. Provide better sales service and solutions
Thanks to the technical development in this field, sales solutions have become better, more accurate and more productive than before. Also, customer behaviors have changed from different buying habits or browsing products before buying them. This means that customers have a lot of options before deciding whether to buy a particular product.
4. Providing fast, instant access to data Mobile apps save you
from dealing with slow stages of data collection and processing. Mobile apps can handle and analyze data faster and more productively. This data can be customized so that access to the desired can be controlled with extreme accuracy, such as custom notifications, for example, for a city about a city. It is possible to send a notification to the city of Riyadh when a discount of up to 20%, while in Jeddah, the discount may be something else. Likewise, any other factor such as age, nationality, specific interests and many others can be specified.
So, mobile applications help to develop the relationship of interest between the customer and your business identity, which helped many companies to reach millions of users of the application on a daily basis, which led to a rise in their market value such as Snapchat or their sale to giant companies such as WhatsApp and Instagram.
